Caution: Men (and Women) at Work

Posted by Jude Emblem

Hey TradCats,
As you may have noticed we are currently in the process of redesigning the TC site. We are experimenting with different themes for the site and your feedback is important to us. Please excuse any inconvenience during this period and please feel free to comment on anything you might like to see from this site that we don't already have (music player anyone?), or any suggestions for how you would like the site to look. Thanks for all you've already done and continue to do! God bless!

Personally I feel a white background is too much for the eyes.

I liked the last one you had up.

The parchment background was the nicest so far, although the layout was not as clear and simple as this one.

i liked the parchment one

I liked the parchment one as well. Maybe if I put that one back with a note as to the changes and where to find things? Also, is there anything we should add to the site?

I am partial to scribe, but since you already have that on SSPX-Jammers, you might want something different.

Right now, when I look, you have a papyrus (were you taking it for parchment, the materials are not the same!) background I do like.

Sorry, it is parchemnt in the middle, and where I took it for papyrus, it was simply wallpaper, but nice background anyway!

I checked the profile of last commenter. His blog begins with letters "dickm" plus some numerals.

I will not look at his link, obviously someone is harassing my internet use by checking out where I've commented and adding links to fake porn, sponsored by some Chinese Government who wants perverts to click it and get an admonition.

Which should tell you something about my situation. And if some FSSPX priest tells you to ignore me, why not ask why they are along with people who use Chinese fake porn as a way of trying to make me feel bad?

I've just emailed the blog owners requesting that they delete the spam comment, Hans. We're all being harassed here, nobody is singled out by this automatically posted comment.

February 26, 2010 at 6:27 AM

Seen it on other comment fields than where I had commented?

February 26, 2010 at 7:04 AM

No, but I haven't looked. It wouldn't surprise me, if you're a prolific commenter. Maybe the spam bots are coded that way, who knows.

February 26, 2010 at 7:26 AM

Coding a spam bot so it strikes some places where I comment after I do so is a way of harrassing me, IF that is how it is done.

Did you get my last question right?

I did not ask you if you had seen it on other posts where I had commented but if you had seen it on other posts THAN where I had commented.

The actual template is called "Parchment" regardless of whether or not it looks like it or not. =) You're right about the background though. The comment links are not as easy to find as the first page. If anyone finds a better template please forward me the link.

I'll look around if I have time, Jude.

Hans: Yes, I've seen this sort of thing on other blogs -- so irritating! Sorry you are being annoyed by this... we are too.

February 26, 2010 at 9:44 AM

I've seen it on one other post on this blog. On that post, you did not leave a comment, unless it was deleted, which I doubt.

February 26, 2010 at 9:48 AM

Sorry, the posts I wrote nothing at I missed, of course.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fill the space that says undefined in the upper left hand corner of every post with a date that it was posted? I've been reading tutorials on different html methods, but I am not as computer savvy as I probably should be.

'fraid not, DA is the one to ask about that

Dave,
I noticed that too-when I saw the demo I assumed it would put the category the post is tagged under in there, but I checked my feminism posts, and obviously, that isn't the case. SO...I used to do web design, so I'll download the code and take a look. I'll email you what I come up with.

the only you have presently is a "nice touch"...=)

I like this one, alright. better then the first, but I think we need be careful and not make it TOO fancy. to keep it TradCats, simple, For our whole goal as Catholics is simplicity; for God is simplicity.
and we are Catholics from our smallest detail to our main end.

not that this is TOO fancy but, I just wanted to put that thought in. I do rather like this one.

God is perfectly simple. True.

That does not mean that God were simplicity as opposed to fanciness. If it had meant that, the Liturgic reform would have been quite in order.
