Given her descendants, Mrs. de Erausquin must have been a worthy matriarch.

She was a wonderful lady and a marvelous painter of icons (she taught Sister Lucia to paint them also.) We miss her very much. R.I.P...

thanks... Well, it is said, "In memoria aeterna erit iustus," so I pray that she may be found just in Our Lord's eyes.

Among Orthodox, and I think also Eastern rite (she was an Icon painter, right?) "memory eternal" is used when Westerners (or all Catholics???) wd say RIP.

She did paint Icons but she was Roman Catholic, like all of us. I like the phrase though!

a) RC painting icons, reminds me of Anders Gerdmar (a friend of last millennium in the RC parish of Lund, not a fan of traditionalism though)

b) I like the phrase too, I hope it is OK to use it even while back in the RC Trad community

I should think it would be fine... I might use it, anyhow... :)
